Example usage of Percona Toolkit

Percona Toolkit is a collection of advanced command-line tools used by Percona

You can also get individual tools from the latest release or the release adapts to your operating system (replace TOOL with the individual tool name):

wget percona.com/get/TOOL

pt-kill kills MySQL connections

pt-summary conveniently summarizes the status and configuration of a server

./pt-mysql-summary -h=192.168.1.5 | tee summary.`date +%F`.log

pt-upgrade - Verify that query results are identical on different servers.

$ chmod +x pt-upgrade
$ ./pt-upgrade h=192.168.1.191 h=192.168.1.100 /tmp/slow.log

Compare host2 to saved results from host1:

$ ./pt-upgrade  --save-results pt-result/ h=192.168.1.191  /tmp/slow.log

$ ./pt-upgrade pt-result/ h=host2

This can also be used to compare the different results of the same server after you make some changes such as adding index.
